Irene Ang

Having a little free time after meeting Yamuna, i decided to drop by Katong Shopping Centre to visit the petite yet dynamic lady whose fate made us crossed paths.

So as i sat inside her shop for a little more than 2 hours, chatting and doing drawings of the numerous pictures she gave me, i learnt a little more about life. While the old me might find it a waste of time to be in there, the new me found experience, found a special bond, found an opportunity to practice my mandarin!

Its one of the simple things in life, where you bond with a certain member of the human race. You learn a little more about their life, about knowledge they could pass on to you. Perhaps its because she never had a daughter, she treated me with lots of girlish love. When i mentioned about never having the opportunity to wear a cheongsam before, she shoved me into the dressing room with one of her lovely creation. And then chided me for saying that it looked old fashioned, for a little alteration would have made the dress, a second skin on me. Upon mentioning that i'll like to get a cup of tea and if she would like anything, she immeditately picked up the phone and ordered tea for me to be delivered.

Irene. It amazing how friendship can be forged, out of corners you never imagine and timing you never expected. It becomes intriguing for me to understand the complexities and vague ways of how fate works, how path crosses, how life revolves around strangers. You'll never learn enough about life.

I'm going back there again, for she reminded me to drop by when I have the time for her. Its all about making time for an individual, isn't it?
