My Sister's Keeper

Somewhere in life, you stumble onto a book that thrills you. The marvel seeps into your bloodstream and you were bowled over by the brilliant literature that spawled the pages.

A book that great often brings one into their world. Like as if you were sitting there in the courtroom watching the court session in place, or at the hospital where one of the characters is dying. It often offers a break from the fast paced life we live in, and brings out the emotions and senses in you, you never knew existed.

"My Sister's Keeper" tells a tale about a girl named Anna who was brought into this world to save her dying sister, Kate. And in every story that involves minor, the authority would have been their parents, Sara and Brian. What was brilliant about this lovely tale, was the multiple dimensions it exposes, the first person view of the lawyer, the father, the delinquent brother.

Anna is pursuing a lawsuit: Against her parents. For the right to use her body.

Jodi Picoult makes you think, and brings you through the story as if you are on a rollercoaster ride. The many punchlines in the story propels the chains in your head. Punches, like bits of candies, were tossed to the readers a little at a time, so when it comes, it hits you real hard.

You think Anna's the keeper of her sister's life. But the other side is revealed upon the completion of the last page. And when you get it, it hits you right smack there in your heart.

Oh, just read it.
