i read on papers today,
the young promising girl who have once shared her story with the rest of the nation,
one about her spirit and positive attitude,
her tale about fighting cancer,
had passed away.
the wave of emotions just gobbled me.
though I, who have never known her personally,
had been touched by her story,
some long time ago.
she was a taxi driver-and-housewife's daughter,
who went on to RGS, RJC and later secured a place in NUS's Archiecture.
The captain of her softball team,
she just had so much in life going for her.
Sometimes you wonder,
how people like her calibre could be allowed to leave this world.
It is just so unfair,
in a world where murderers, rapists and con men continue to roam.
Imagine the grief of her parents whose daughter who have performed so brilliantly, has left them.
She left more than a story.
Probably changed a few of her close friend's and family's lives.
For if I, a stranger, could be warmed by her spirit.
I wonder how many others have been affected.
Once the grief tide over,
the celebration for her new life should begin.
