YAY! FINALLY.
The flood of random pictures for the moment.
Didn't manage to get up early,
so I stayed back late to do my blogging.
Finally got my bicycle today,
so plenty of riding to come.
But for now, I'll just have to worry about getting myself on it and managing it..
I'm too small for the smallest bike. :S
Hoping to rush home before nightfall
because I'd really need the light to see through the winding road.
But again, I'm waiting for the printers so I can run through another 200 documents for the night.. Hmm lets see what I have to say.
I saw a deer on Saturday, which was unbelivable and surreal.
OH AND I HAVE YET TO TALKED ABOUT THE DOCTOR YET!
If only I had such luck in Singapore!
So I met Dr. John and his cute blond chezch republic cousin at a chinese restaurant on Easter,
with a precious lil kid called Joseph as well.
And than after talking throughout lunch,
we decided to meet later at night at a cafe (about the only one that is opened for the night.)
So we talked alot.
Its interesting because he specialises in acupuncture (like so chinese right?)
And about politics,
about cultural differences,
about income gaps,
about chinese medicine, of course.
Blah blah.
Was pretty excited about finally meeting people and going out in the night.
But the night ended young,
about 10pm and we were chased out of the cafe.
We said we'll keep in touch.
We'll see how it turns out. :)
There are alot of things I am learning about America right now and one of them seems like everyone, like almost every other Tom Dick and Harry has a Masters in Something something. It seems like its easy to actually get a cert from random universities all over the country.
And having talked about poor communities in countys with my colleagues today, its unbelievable to know that many still live in third world conditions here in America. We're talking about the America that portrays themselves to be people with freedom and full of rights, and yet many do not recieve healthcare or education, or even travel out of their small communities. The next exhibition artist, Dave Anderson that will be featured in CPW's June show photographed people from this small community called Vidor, entitled his body of work to be "Rough Beauty". Which gave birth to the discussion about living conditios, and my colleagues do have strong opinionated stand about these growing income gap. This documentary style of portraying the living conditions is not new, and photographers like Mark Goodman had done it so long ago... (and things still look the same!)
It's incredible how I'm learning so much of all these stuff day by day. American lifestyles, american way of life, being exposed to plenty and plenty of photographers works and discussions, inferring things from what I do in work everyday. Its just been such a period where I just felt like I grew alot.
Alright, that's for now. Printer's almost done and the blanket of darkness is coming. I better rush!
