we are all just photo students, trying to find our spot in this vast big world.

one of the best few days in my entire schooling life had got to be the last few days...

we sat in silence in the dark hushed studio,
with computer screens brightly glaring at us.
each engrossed in our own production,
burning, dodging, liquidfying.
every once in a while,
we stood about, stretched around.
look over each's shoulder and mumble about colour correction.
once cheeyong joined us,
it was the perfect workplace,
DI, stop, question, back to DI.
.
each night ended for us when the guard knock in at 1030pm,
and with the car we drove to random places to eat.
and talk till wee hours of the mornings with the random ramblings.
about son's and daughter's names,
about boyfriends and buddies,
about getting married and of commitment.
.
friends of this calibre, i realised take years to groom.
amongst us, we took alot of photo classes together.
even begun this friendship with the first class of our polytechnic life.
we all start to look out for the same thing when seeing,
like colours on the tv,
or lighting of the scene.
we talk in photo language,
white balance, flashes of lights.
.
when you start to understand one another's hand gestures,
or eye contact, just one look and you know what they need.
or what they're trying to tell you.
"cut my meat now, i'm hungry and that bastard won't hang up"
"hot girl 3 o clock, behind me!"
"she is fat."
"what kind of shoot is that?"
its almost an entirely new level of friendship.

its really one of those days you don't want to forget.
yet i wonder if i'm overly sentimental.
